Fruit roll ups were totally one of my favorite treats when I was a kid, and Maddie loves these homemade ones to bits!
You really can’t beat one ingredient for an easy recipe!
The major thing to appreciate here is the nutrition factor as well. No additives or preservatives, just a simple and natural, chewy roll of deliciousness!
What is this “magical” one ingredient? Fruit!
What a novel idea! Fruit roll ups made from FRUIT! <—insert sarcastic eye roll here!
It boggles my mind thinking about all of the “can’t find it the grocery store” ingredients that are in packaged fruit snacks, and I’d rather not have to think about it, so we make these instead!
A couple of notes before you make these Homemade Fruit Roll Ups…
- If you are fruits that are a bit bitter/tart, feel free to add a tablespoon or so of honey to sweeten it up!
- This tutorial says to heat at 180 degrees, but we usually do ours at 210 degrees. I know ovens can vary, but 30 degrees seemed like a big enough difference to note!
- While you can use a pretty wide variety of fruits, berries work best!
- There’s really no exact recipe since these are so customizable, but I usually end up using between 2-2 1/2 cups of fruit in total.
